Who is Josh Holleran?
Hi, I'm Josh. I'm the co-founder of The PDI School and Instruct IQ, a Grade A Approved Driving Instructor, founder of JRH Driving School and co-host of the Mirrors, Signal, Podcast.
Before becoming a driving instructor, I spent 14 years in the RAF Regiment, where much of my career was spent training and developing people. Looking back, that's always been the part of the job I enjoyed most: helping people improve.
I became a driving instructor because I genuinely enjoy helping people develop. It started with learners, but over time my focus shifted towards supporting instructors.
One of the biggest reasons for that was my own experience entering the industry. I didn't receive the quality of training I felt new instructors deserved, and that stayed with me. Rather than accepting it, I decided to build something better.
Today, my goal is to help people from the moment they start Part 1 through to becoming confident, reflective ADIs who continue developing throughout their careers.
I don't believe in scripts, teaching by numbers or telling people there's only one right way to teach. I believe in helping people understand the principles behind what they do, think critically about their own practice and build the confidence to make good decisions in real lessons.
